About us
Ed's journey with shepherd huts began with the establishment of his own glamping retreat. As an additional accommodation at Hidden Wood Glamping, he built his first hut. The outcome was positive, and shepherd huts have since become his passion.
Ed, who lives in the beautiful and rural Wiltshire countryside, wanted to make this experience available to all nature lovers. In recent years, he has used his love of woodworking and the countryside to create classic and high-quality shepherd huts, glamping pods, and tiny houses.
Shepherd huts were mobile structures that were widely used throughout Southern England during the 1800s and early 1900s to provide shelter for the shepherd as he tended his flock during the lambing season. They were traditionally mounted on cast iron wheels, with wood or later corrugated steel sides and arched corrugated steel roofing.
We were inspired by these original structures and adapted them for modern living.
Our experienced team of skilled professionals takes great pride in their work to ensure that each shepherd's hut is of the highest quality. We take pride in our quality, value for money, and excellent customer service, as well as our passion for true craftsmanship and design. Our goal is to build extremely high-quality, low-cost shepherd's huts from locally sourced materials. We work closely with each customer throughout the construction process to meet their specific needs.
